Reward Program Tallies - As of July 31, 2010

I'm going to start a new monthly post with the running totals of the various reward programs I belong to. I got the idea from Julia at Couponing to be Debt Free, who does a really great weekly post detailing her totals for each week. I know that I'm a bit of a slacker, so I'm only aiming for a month-end total:-)

Here are the tallies as of yesterday for some of the reward programs I've signed up with:

MyPoints - 1,630 points
I've been a member since 1997, and have been very satisfied with the program. Most of the rewards I've earned have been from clicking on their e-mails and answering surveys. My current balance is pretty much as of January 2010, because I tend to cash them out around the holidays. You can sign up here  if you're not already a member, and would like to help me earn some referral points.

Opinion Outpost - 181 points/$18.10
I'm really liking this program. I've only been a member since the end of June, and already I'm up to almost $20.00. You get reward points for answering surveys, and 10 reward points = $1.00. You can request a check as soon as you reach the $5.00 mark. I think I'm going to save mine for some holiday shopping money. Ebates - $5.91/total Cash Back since joining in 2003: $147.29
Another program that I've been a member of for several years. I think I would've earned more money in the past if I had only remembered to shop through the Ebates web site, which I wasn't very good at remembering to do:-) Good offers - discounts, coupons and cash back on purchases. Where and how do you get free samples? 

• Get yourself a free Google/GMail account to use.
• Sign up on product web sites
• Check sites like AllYou.com's Daily Free Sample page and Walmart.com's Free Samples page
• Hey, It's Free
• Facebook - lots of product fan pages have special free sample or coupon offers.
• Get yourself a free Google/GMail account and subscribe to RSS feeds using Google Reader. It's not as hard as it sounds, and you'll be able to scan multiple freebie and coupon sites regularly fairly quickly. It's a LOT easier than going back and forth from web site to web site every day! • Kraft has a great program called Kraft First Taste. They'll send you samples and coupons for free products every few months. You can sign up for free at http://www.kraftfirsttaste.com
• If you like SoBe water and drinks, or haven't tried them yet, head over to http://headsortails.sobe.com and play the SoBe "Heads or Tails?" game. You can enter daily to win free stuff and 9 times out of 10, you'll get a coupon you can print on your computer for a BOGO SoBe (that's Buy One, Get One FREE). Combine that with a sale like the upcoming BOGO sale at CVS starting on Sunday, and you've got yourself two free 20 oz. bottles of SoBe!

• 2 bottles of Dawn dish detergent - Sale price of $0.99 EACH - total cost $1.98 (plus tax)
• Colgate Total Advanced toothpaste, 5.8 oz - Sale price of $3.49, plus $3.49 back in RR (Register Rewards) - total cost FREE
• Expo Washable Dry Erase Markers, package of 6 - Sale price of $5.99, less $3.00 off Instant Value Coupon in July coupon book, less an additional $1.00 manufacturer's coupon - total cost $1.99. HUGE SCORE for this pen addict!!! (I've noticed that this varies by area, depending on regular, non-sale price. Some states sale price is only $3.99 and the Instant Value Coupon is for $1.00 off. I'm guessing that this is because New York City regular prices are higher to start with. These markers usually sell for about $10.49 here.)
• I also picked up my 2 inkjet printer ink cartridge refills - $10.00 each (plus tax) with last week's in ad coupon (normally $12.99/each), less reimbursement from my company - total cost FREE.

My total before coupons, etc. was $45.11
Less $8.00 in coupons = $37.11 (tax included)
Less $3.49 and $3.00 in Register Rewards = $30.62
Less $21.77 reimbursement from my company on the ink cartridges = a total cost to me of  $8.85
